A mattress is an investment

When last did you replace your mattress? A good quality mattress can last up to 10 years, so start thinking of a mattress as a serious investment in your health and well-being. There is no use in making a purchasing decision solely on price. Every £100 you spend on a mattress represents just 2.7p a night over 10 years. This is a false economy.

Think about you (Don’t forget your sleeping partner!)

We all vary in size, weight and preferred sleeping position. One mattress cannot fit all, so what is best for someone may not be appropriate for another.

Are you slight, average-sized or heavy-set? Do you sleep on your side, back or stomach and do you generally sleep hot at night? Answering these questions will help you decide between mattress type and mattress tension.

Comfort Level (Firmness)

All our mattresses have been gauged for an average-sized sleeper of 80kg.

A mattress we describe as 'firm' will feel harder to a 70kg sleeper versus a sleeper who is nearer to 100kg. Back and stomach sleepers generally prefer harder sleeping surfaces while side sleepers require added softness that relieves pressure points from hips and shoulders.

Comfort levels are stated on individual mattress pages.

Types of mattresses we offer

Hybrid mattress

Our luxury hybrid mattresses are like nothing you have ever experienced. They help you sleep better by combining the very best qualities of pocket sprung & memory foam mattresses into a single, high-quality sleeping solution.

Each of our luxury hybrid mattresses is manufactured from the highest-grade materials by a team of experienced craftsmen.

Pocket spring mattress

Our pocket sprung collection combines modern technology & traditional bed-making techniques.

We use a revolutionary 'air suspension, pocket spring unit' which is covered in layers of hand teased fillings of premium quality cashmere, silk, lamb wool or cotton.

Skilled craftsmen hand side-stitch all our pocket spring mattress in two rows & add wool tufts to deliver a mattress with outward appeal & internal rigidity & support.

Memory foam mattresses

Our memory foam mattresses provide ground-breaking comfort & quality. They feature high-density VISCO elastic memory foam and are covered in a luxurious stretch silk cover to enhance the performance of the memory foam structure.

Some in the range feature 3D airflow fabric allowing the mattress to breathe, increasing airflow in & out of the mattress extending the mattresses lifespan & enhancing its inherent hypo-allergenic qualities.

Latex Mattress

Our latex mattresses offer exceptional value-for-money. Each feature a combination of individual pocket spring units, layers of luxurious lambswool, cotton hair & polyester, and a deep latex foam topper to give a constant firm feel right through the night.

Each mattress ingredient has been specifically chosen, so it works in tandem with the other elements to maximise comfort and durability.

Mattress care

Air!

When you receive your mattress, let it air around 4 hours to freshen and for the 'wrapped-up' aroma to dissipate.

Avoid using a plastic sheet on or under the mattress as this prevents air circulation resulting in condensation.

Give yourself time to fall in love

Your newbie may seem a little strange at first. The springs and upholstery in your old mattress were not what they used to be, so give yourself a little bit of time to get acquainted.

Turn your mattress

Your body weight compresses a mattress, leading to dips and ultimately an uneven sleeping surface, so it is essential to turn your mattress regularly to maximise its life. If turning a large mattress is difficult for you, then we suggest you consider a one-sided 'no-turn' mattress.

Our memory foam mattresses don't need turning. In some cases, they only have one sleeping surface so our recommendation would be to rotate the mattress lengthways occasionally (once a month) to maximise its life. Over time these mattresses may feel as if they are gradually getting softer, as cells within the foam open more fully and the surface reacts more quickly. However, pressure relieving properties remain the same, and eventually, the whole mattress will react evenly.

Cleaning

Avoid using detergents or chemical cleaners. Instead use a clean damp cloth for light cleaning, allowing the mattress to dry afterwards.

One of the best ways to keep the upholstery in tip-top condition is to use a mattress protector as this will protect it from contact with body moisture.
